Typical Spring, Cold at Times

High pressure is likely to feature heavily in the current pattern, becoming the dominant influence through the middle part of April. Initially the centre of the high is expected to be situated to the west or northwest of the country, this will feed a cool to, at times, cold flow of Polar air into the north and northeast of the British Isles. The centre of the high is then expected to shift eastwards to sit over the country, bringing all areas a spell of fine and settled weather, through the the middle of the month. The high will then reposition itself to the west once more, before collapsing away to the south or southwest. An unsettled and changeable west to southwesterly flow then developing across all areas through the latter stages of April. The beginning of may is expected to continue in a rather mixed mood with spells of rain and showers. Rather windy too at times across the north and west.
