Colder as high pressure builds

Well, it feel cooler this morning doesn't it? The brief milder period of weather that we saw last week has now drifted away, to be replaced by cooler northerly winds.

This morning has brought plenty of wintry showers to Scotland, and these will be drifting over the higher ground of northern England this afternoon.

Overnight, under clearer skies, temperatures will be falling quickly and a widespread frost is going to be forming. So, if you do have delicate plants outside, they will need protecting both tonight, and over the coming nights.

It's likely that it will be the end of the week before milder conditions arrive from the west.

In the meantime, wrap up warm!

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
