Dry for many, but rain on Monday

It won't be the best of Bank Holiday weekend, especially if you live in the east of the UK, however, for many western areas is will certainly not be to bad.

The UK and Ireland are sandwiched between high pressure southwest of Ireland and low pressure over northern Germany. The result is a cool northerly flow through the UK. Most places should be dry through Saturday with sunny spells for some. However, thicker cloud drifting onto eastern coasts in the afternoon, bringing some outbreaks of rain here.

By Sunday I think the area of low pressure will drift into the North Sea, and then northern England. This will bring rain through much of northern England, East Anglia and the eastern Midlands, perhaps a s well as southern England. More western parts of England, Wales and Scotland (except the east) should be drier and brighter.

On Monday many southern and eastern areas are likely to see the rain, with further showers through Scotland. Further patchy rain into Northern Ireland. It will be dry for some though, with northwest England and northwest Wales, as well as eastern Ireland most likely to see the drier conditions.

Whatever the weather keep the sun shining!
