High pressure = summer sunshine
It's a simple equation I know, but when we see high pressure building through the UK and Ireland at this time of year, it usually means glorious days of warm sunshine.
And for most of us that will be the weather pattern of the week ahead. There will be good sunny spells around, with warm temperatures, especially until the weekend. The only fly in the ointment is perhaps Wednesday when some thundery showers could be trigger over the high ground of northern England, the Midlands and East Anglia.
Having said that, it won't be a fine week for all. There will be cloud and occasional showery rain always troubling northwest Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland at times. Coastal areas will be feeling cooler too, this due to a refreshing sea breeze.
By the weekend we may see a slight change with some rain starting to nudge into Ireland and western Scotland. My confidence on this is still low at times moment and I'm not sure how far east the rain will come. I have a suspicion that it may well turn hot or even very hot for much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland, whilst Ireland sees some hefty bursts of rain.
Whatever the weather keep the sun shining!
