Hot weather, lots of sunshine, is this really a British summer?

Get the barbecues out because there's a hot weekend on the way for many parts of the country.

Not everywhere will be feeling the heat though, as there will be showers and cooler conditions moving through Ireland on Saturday. By Sunday we may see some showers breaking out through the Midlands, northern England and Scotland and these showers could cause a few problems for the Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday.

So, how hot will it be? Well, I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in the UK saw 31C 88F at some point through the weekend, although the brisk southeast wind is likely to take the edge off the temperatures.

If you are in the sunshine, do take care. The sun is very powerful and unprotected skin will get burnt very quickly.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
