Mixed with showers, brighter for some...

The weekend was always going to be a tricky one to predict, and that's exactly the way that it's shaping up.

Latest thoughts are that a shallow area of low pressure is expected over the south of Ireland on Saturday. This is going to bring some showery rain through much of Ireland, Wales and the western parts of England. Further showers for Scotland too, these perhaps falling as more persistent rain at first.

For much of the rest of England it should be a dry day overall with sunny spells, although a low risk of some showery rain in the far southeast at first.

By Sunday the morning is probably going to bring some showery rain from southern Ireland, through northern parts of England, especially in the morning. This area of rain should fade in the afternoon. To the south of this it should be dry, apart from an isolated shower. Increasing winds in the afternoon could bring thundery rain for Monday. With high pressure building over Scotland, it should be dry here.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
