Some hot spells
Our current forecast pattern indicates that high pressure should reassert its influence across most areas of the country. Becoming settled and warm once more, but by months end cooler and unsettled across most areas. The beginning of August seeing some scattered showers then fine and settled.
15/07 - 21/07 Pressure should be on the rise once more particularly across England and Wales, a general slack westerly flow across northern areas for a time. A large area of high pressure is expected to develop to settle over southern districts of the UK, becoming fine, dry and increasingly warm with lengthy spells of sunshine and light to variable winds. Some scattered showers are expected top develop, possibly thundery in nature at times. Northern areas expected to see more in the way of cloud at times with showers across the northwest.
22/07 - 28/07 High pressure will persist across the UK, all areas fine, settled and warm to locally hot. Scattered thundery showers developing across England and Wales. Low pressure to the west and northwest is expected to move closer to the country through the middle to latter stages of the week. Cloud and outbreaks of rain extending into western and northwestern districts. By weeks end, low pressure will push cloud and heavy showers or spells of rain through all areas, windy in the west and becoming cooler generally everywhere.
29/07 - 05/08 Cool and unsettled for all areas, with showers or longer spells of rain. Windy in the northwest and generally northwesterly flow across all areas. Pressure building to the west southwest through the middle of the week, showers beginning to die away from the west, continuing through eastern and northeastern areas for a time, then mainly dry everywhere.
05/08 - 09/08 Pressure high to the west through the remainder of the period, some scattered showers possible although mainly dry and fine under a building ridge of high pressure.
