Rain for the north, drier south

It looks like we should see some cooler weather for the beginning part of the week ahead. Not good news for farmers though as rainfall in the south is going to be strictly limited.

On Tuesday a band of rain may cross Scotland and Northern Ireland, this also affecting the north of England. It'll be Wednesday evening before the rain clears properly by which time higher pressure will be building nicely into the south.

The high pressure is likely to build northwards in the second half of the week, bringing a return to fine and sunny conditions. By Friday temperatures will be on the rise and we could well see some hot weather returning to central and southern parts of England.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
