33C the peak, but weait for the climatological observations...

The days top temperatures (at least the hourly ones) are in, and have peaked around 33C.

Bedford, Heathrow and Gloucester all managed to get this high, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a 34C reported somewhere in the country when all the observations become available later.

So, let's hope things cool off tonight (they should do) and then get set for another scorcher tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised to see 35 or even 36C somewhere in the souoth Midlands or Home Counties on Wednesday.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.

Temperatrues still rising...

It's now topped 32C at Northolt and Heathrow, with Jersey, Gatwick and Liverpool all sat at the same temperature. There's still an hour or so to go before the maximum temperatures of the day.

Yesterday at the same time the temperature was 2C lower, so based on that value, I'd predict an official high somewhere around 34.5C.

I still hold out for the sandy soils of the western Midlands to top 35C, so hold on to your suncream and get ready to fry!!!

32C already, and still rising!

Latest temperatures for you from the Weatheronline Weather Centre.

Here in Wombourne, South Staffordshire we've already topped 32C. Jersey is also sweltering at 32C (hope the cows can still produce that delicious cream!). Other temperatures include 31C at Heathrow and (unusually) Liverpool and Bournemouth.

At the other extreme poor old Lerwick is stuck at 13C in drizzle, although I know that some of you might be wishing for that weather right now.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
