Is this summer 2006?
That will be the question on many lips as the weather cools down during the coming weekend.
We are about to see a major change in weather pattern as we lose slack pressure flows, with low pressure west of Ireland and high pressure building to the east and south of the UK. The door will be opened to Atlantic weather systems and these areas of low pressure may pass over Scotland.
The result will be cooler, fresher west to southwest winds with fronts making their way eastwards through the UK and Ireland. These will be bringing spells of rain, mostly to western Ireland and the west of Scotland.
The cooler weather then lasts well into next week.
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
