Farmers and growers pleased to see the rain
You can almost detect an audible sigh of relief across the nation this morning as weather forecasters promise rain for the weekend. It does seem as if most of us will be seeing some reasonable rainfall totals, the first for many for several weeks.
The rain will be through western England and Wales as well as western Scotland and Ireland on Saturday, whilst much of central eastern England will be staying very warm with some brighter spells.
Overnight the rain edges eastwards, becoming heavy and thundery at times through much of northern and central England. By Sunday the heavy, thundery periods of rain will be through East Anglia and southeast England where there is a risk of flooding. This rain is going to be slow to clear although should have gone from the far east by late afternoon.
Heavy showers follow through Ireland, Wales and western parts of England and Scotland where it could also be breezy.
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
