Low pressure drifts east and the northerlies set in...
The hot weather pattern of the past few weeks has finally been broken. Here in Wombourne we finally got rainfall yesterday, the most since 27th June and it was a similar story for other parts of the UK and Ireland.
So, what's in store for this week? Well, it's looking like it will be staying unsettled through the course of the week, especially for northern and eastern parts of the UK Here low pressure will be close by and this is going to be bringing outbreaks of rain and showers for many. It will be feeling cool in that northerly wind too.
For more western areas things should become drier with sunny spells coming through, although it will be feeling cool.
The weekend is likely to become more unsettled for western Ireland and Scotland with weak fronts pushing eastwards, although for much of England and Wales it should be drier with sunny spells and starting to warm up, especially in the hitherto chilly southeast.
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
