Mixed periods, windy at times...

The overall general pattern remains intact and the basic forecast hasn't materially changed. I have some reservations as to how strong the build of pressure (if it takes place) will be through the latter stages of September, it my well be the case that the pattern turns into one of a 'blocking anticyclone' over to the east of us rather than sitting over us? It may therefore be rather more mixed than once indicated if low pressure gets stuck over us?

23/09 - 29/09
High pressure should remain in control of the pattern. England and Wales should be mostly settled and fine although some coastal showers are possible. Northern and northwestern districts will be cloudier with outbreaks of rain. There could be some erosion of the anticyclone through the latter stages of the week? This will allow more organised showery activity to push through all areas.

30/09 - 06/10
Although there may be showers or longer spells of rain through the weekend, high pressure is expected to build once more across all areas, an anticyclone settling over the UK. Mist and fog becoming a problem through inland areas and ground frost is possible.

07/10 - 13/10
Although high pressure is expected to remain in control of the pattern, the centre of the anticyclone is expected to drift to the west or northwest through the week. An east to northeast, then increasingly strong northerly breeze clould develop, all areas cool, dry and settled, with overnight mist, fog and frost at first, cloudy with showers later.

14/10 - 18/10
Remaining cool throughout. Expect showers or longer spells of rain through all areas, indications that later in the period it will turn unsettled, wet and windy.
