Temperatures back into the 70's, is summer returning?

After what can be best descrbed as a "mixed" August, it's good to see high pressure starting to develop again next week. And with the late summer sunshine will be coming warm temperatures. In fact, it could become very warm for some.

I'm expect temperatures to be at 27 ot 28C over southern and central parts of England next Wednesday, those temperatures nudging 80F.

So, your next question is no doubt "how long will it last?". At the moment I am tempted to say that the warm and sunnier weather may hold in southern and central England and Wales perhaps until around the 20th of the month. Yes, there will be a few blips but overall dry and warm weather seems the order of the day. Not so good for Scotland and Ireland where there is an increased likelyhood of rain, although I don't think it will ever be wet.

I'll update you further over the weekend but it may be a good idea to forget about packing away the shorts and bikinis just yet!

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
Simon
