Frost and fog patches to start the weekend
With high pressure bringing light winds and clear skies to much of eastern Scotland and northern England, the scene looks set for another cold night on Friday into Saturday. A widespread ground frost occurred on Friday morning from the Midlands, through northern England and Scotland, and although not as widespread tonight, some places will see a touch of frost.
The highest risk of a touch of ground frost is through northeast England, central and eastern Scotland.
Fog is likely to be more widespread than this morning, stretching through much of northeast England, the Vale of York particularly prone, and then extending northwards to much of southern, central and eastern Scotland.
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
Simon
