Cool nights ahead. Becoming more unsettled.
High pressure looks set to dominate the weather over the next few days. It slips eastwards through Thursday and Friday, allowing a strengthening southeast breeze to develop. A weak trough into the west may bring some showery rain to Ireland and western England on Saturday. By early next week low pressure is to the west of Ireland, with fronts pushing eastwards, mainly affecting the west. These fronts move eastwards through the whole country during the week. Pressure then briefly build next Wednesday, before a deeper depression reaches western Ireland later.
However, tha main story will be the cool nights of Thursday and Friday. It looks set to be central and southern Scotland, as well as northern England that see these. A slight ground frost is likely in these areas. It should be dry by day here, with good spells of sunshine.
