Rain for all, and a risk of strong winds
It seems that after such a fine spell of weather over the weekend, we will be reminded this week that autumn is here. High pressure, which has been giving such wonderful weather to most of the UK and Ireland will be slipping away eastwards to be replaced by low pressure north of Scotland. Fronts will be moving eastwards in the flow, bringing band of rain eastwards, and this overall pattern looks se to remain into next weekend.

Thursday 14/9/06
A brisk westerly wind seems likely for Wednesday. Most of northeast England, the Midlands, southern England and eastern Scotland, as well as eastern Ireland should be dry. For places exposed to the westerly wind there will be showers, some of them heavy at times. A breezy day, especially in the west with temperatures at 15 to 21C.
Friday 15/9/06
A more organised area of low pressure and associated fronts will be affecting much of the country. A windy day seems likely with a chance of gales through western areas. Rain, heavy at times, will be affecting much of Ireland and Scotland, as well as parts of west Wales and northwest England. Lighter rain for other parts of England with fog affecting western coasts. A muggy day with tops of 17 to 21C.
Saturday 16/9/06
High pressure is going to make an attempt to build through the country today. There may be some bright or sunny spells and it should be generally dry for much of Ireland and Scotland. A weak front trailing across England will bring some cloud and rain here, although this should only be light and patchy. Highs near 16 to 19C.
