Fog and widespread frosts for most
A strong area of high pressure is expected to develop over Britain from Wednesday and this is expected to remain the dominant weather feature through the upcoming weekend. The week will be cold and characterised by fog, frost and sunshine.

Dry across the bulk of the United Kingdom this morning with long sunny spells Cold and frosty this morning with some dense fog across central and northern parts of England. This disperses most places by the afternoon. Apart from some drizzle in the far north of Scotland, it's a dry day with lots of crisp sunshine. Highs of 6 to 10C north to south.

Fine and dry across the bulk of the United Kingdom this morning with long sunny spells after a frosty, foggy morning. Continued dry with lots of sunshine into the afternoon though a few fog patches may linger across the Midlands into the Vale of York. Foggy, cold and frosty again overnight. The fog will become dense and widespread. Highs of 6 to 10C.

Continued settled, cold and dry across the United Kingdom today. Another cold morning to come with dense fog patches. These will persist in some parts for much of the afternoon. Outside of the fog expect lots of sunshine. Fog returns this evening and tonight. Highs of 6 to 11C north to south.

Breezy and cloudy across northwest Scotland today with some patchy drizzle. High pressure keeps it settled, dry and cold across the remainder of the United Kingdom with frost and fog gradually lifting to some afternoon sunshine. Highs of 7 to 11C.

Little change is expected with north west Scotland seeing some patchy rain. For the rest of the country it will be staying dry with sunny spells developing. Fog and frosty again in the morning. Still chilly by day and cold by night with temperatures of 9 to 12C.
