Christmas Is Coming (well, not just yet)

Okay, I thought we'd have a bit of fun and look at what our latest forecast is indicating for Christmas and the first part of 2007.

Now, if you pressed me for a Christmas update, then I would have to say that perhaps we were a little cautious last time, as on current trends the colder weather that we indicated to arrive in the period running up to the New Year, may well, on this analogous pattern appear slightly earlier, perhaps even around 24th December?

There's no indication of a major outbreak of snow though and this is only coming in on the 'shirt-tails' of an unsettled spell through the Christmas period, with some rather cool air to the north coming south.

We keep getting indications that through the first part of January 2007 the Azores high will be displaced further north than usual? This would lead to cool northwest winds.

Later in January though it looks as if the Azores high disappears completely, with the mid to latter stages of the month, being extremely unsettled.

February looks 'all over the place' at the moment so it's hard to point to what is going to hapen, I'll try and update you on this in the next few weeks!
