Low pressure and Atlantic fronts to rule
Confidence is now high that much of the forecast period will be dominate by low pressure and with the winds from the south west, temperatures will remain on the mild side. As the winds switch to the north by Tuesday it does turn colder but that's going to be short lived as the south-westerlies come back in.

A dry morning to come through central parts of England, perhaps some sunshine. Elsewhere mostly cloudy with occasional showers. While a few eastern areas could escape with a dry afternoon, most areas will be at risk of showers and some could be heavy,, especially in the west. Light rain and showers will affect the west tonight, dry in the east. Highs at 13 to 18C.

Mostly cloudy across the country this morning with sporadic outbreaks of mainly light and patchy rain. It brightens up for the afternoon with showers likely across Wales and western and southern parts of England. Northern Scotland may see a spell of more persistent rain. Look for top temperatures of 13 to 17C.

Dry and bright for Scotland and north east England with fog patches clearing to sunny spells this morning, a few dense at first. Rain in the south will sweep north east into all parts during the afternoon, though it look squite light and patchy in the south east of England. A wet and windy night for all with a risk of gales in the west. Tops at 12 to 18C.

A blustery day to come with rain clearing eastern parts of England and Scotland then expect plenty of showers, some heavy with a risk of thunder and hail. It stays windy with rain in the west this evening clearing eastern areas before morning. Highs of 11 to 17C.

Rather breezy and feeling colder across the country today. Apart from scattered showers around western and North Sea coasts, it will be mainly dry with good sunny spells inland. A few showers may be of snow over the highest ground of Scotland. Highs of 10 to 15C.
