Atlantic fronts to move west to east
Now that low pressure is in charge, it looks as though it will be with us through out the forecast period. While it brings lots of rain and gusty winds, it will be staying on the mild side with the winds to prevail from the south west or south for much of the time.

Dry for East Anglia, south east England and northern Scotland in the morning. Very wet and windy elsewhere with outbreaks of rain, this heavy across northern England and Wales. The rain spread to all areas in the afternoon, but will be light in the south east. Highs at 13 to 19C.
Monday 23/10/06
Windy with gales across northern and Scotland and rain will persist for much of the day. Early morning rain clears south east England with showers around western coasts, mainly dry inland. In the afternoon expect showers for Wales, south west England and around southern coasts. Look for top temperatures of 12 to 17C.

Rain across south west England this morning will turn heavy as it sweep north east into all parts of England and Wales. Mainly dry for Northern Ireland and for Scotland there will be rain in the north. Tops at 12 to 16C.
Wednesday 25/10/06
Cloudy and wet this morning with heavy spells of rain for Wales, northern England and Scotland. The rain lingers across Scotland in the afternoon. Elsewhere expect plenty of showers, many of these may be heavy with a risk of thunder and hail. Highs of 11 to 17C.
Thursday 26/10/06
Dry, albeit cloudy across central and southern England this morning. For the rest of the country rain is likely and this moves into the Midlands and south west England in the afternoon. Highs of 10 to 18C north to south.
