Mild south west winds to prevail

Outbreaks of rain across southwest England at first will sweep up into Wales and the southern half of England in the morning then moves also moves into Northern Ireland and Scotland through the afternoon. Rather windy in the south and here the rain will be heaviest. Highs at 10 to 15C north to south.

Thursday 26/10/06
Cloudy and windy, especially across Scotland. Persistent and heavy rain is expected today though the rain in the south will be lighter as it turns showery in the afternoon. All parts turn dry by tonight. Warm in the south with top temperatures of 12 to 19C.



Friday 27/10/06
Dry and mostly sunny for most places this morning though rain spills into Northern Ireland. The rain spreads into North Wales, northern England and Scotland in the afternoon, staying fair and dry to the south. Tops at 10 to 16C.



Saturday 28/10/06
Mainly dry, albeit cloudy across East Anglia and the far south of England today. For the rest of the United Kingdom rain and drizzle is expected on an doff all day, this heavy across Scotland. Still rather mild with highs of 10 to 16C.

Sunday 29/10/06
A band of rain will linger across southern Scotland. Northern England and Wales for much of the day. To the north and south it stays dry with brighter spells. Overnight the area of rain spills into southern England. Look for maximum temperatures of 11 to 18C north to south.
