Chance of snow for Scotland
Very unsettled and often windy for much of the United Kingdom throughout the forecast period. Fronts will bring a fair amount of rain to many areas. While temperatures will be near normal in the south, cold air will sink into the north and may give Scotland some wintry conditions later.

Wednesday 15/11/06
Rather mild in the south. An area of rain will linger across much of England and Wales all day and night with some heavy bursts coming through later. Colder in the north but dry and sunny apart from a few showers in western Scotland. Highs at 7 to 9C in the north, 12 to 15C in the wet south.
Thursday 16/11/06
A much colder day expected with outbreaks of rain East Anglia and the south east of England clearing this morning to sunny spells. A few showers will affect western Scotland otherwise fair and dry for the rest of the country with good sunny spells. Highs at 5 to 10C north to south.
Friday 17/11/06
Cold today with a risk of heavy snow showers for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Patchy rain and rain showers are expected for western England and Wales, mainly dry and bright to the east. Highs at 5 to 10C.
Saturday 18/11/06
A few wintry showers for northern Scotland today. Fine and dry elsewhere with some sun and some cloud. Outbreaks of rain will push into Northern Ireland in the afternoon. As it spreads into Scotland in the afternoon expect snow to low levels for a time. Turning wet across Wales and all but East Anglia and south east England overnight. Highs at 5 to 9C.

Fair and dry for central and southern England today. A front will keep it wet to the north with some heavy spells of rain likely. Highs at 8 to 12C north to south.
