Outbreaks of heavy rain are expected to spread across south Wales later this afternoon and evening. Embedded heavy downpours are likely to bring locally 15mm or more in three hours, and more widely, 15 to 20mm is likely over low ground and 30 to 35mm likely over high ground by late evening. The rain will be accompanied by southerly gales for a time with gusts of 50 to 55mph, especially in exposed places. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the latest Environment Agency, Floodline, and 'Flood Warnings in Force', and to refer to the 'Traffic Wales' for further advice on road conditions.
