Outbreaks of rain will turn to snow during the early hours of Friday with the snow becoming heavy at times giving accumulations of 5-10cm at low levels and locally 20cm or more on higher ground. In addition, winds up to severe gale force will lead to drifting and blizzard conditions although winds will gradually ease through the day. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to 'Traffic Scotland' for further advice on road conditions.
