Heavy showers or thunderstorms will affect parts of Hertfordshire, Essex and Northeast London over the next few hours with totals of 15 or more in an hour, and perhaps 30 mm in 3 hours in places. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the 'Highways Agency' for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.
