Rain will become extensive, persistent and locally heavy during Wednesday afternoon and evening, before clearing early on Thursday. Generally 15-25mm will fall in western areas with up to 40mm on high ground. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to "Traffic Scotland" for further advice on road conditions.
