Outbreaks of sleet and snow have left roads and pavements either wet or snow covered, and with the temperature falling below freezing quite widely during the night widespread ice will form on untreated surfaces. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the 'Highways Agency' for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.
