Inland areas, especially western Aberdeenshire, will see snowfalls become more persistent and occasionally heavy during the rest of today. The lowest lying areas towards the coast will not have any significant snow accumulations. However, on ground above 200 metres, fresh falls of 10 to 15 cm are expected to accumulate by early tonight, and locally fresh falls of around 25cm can be expected, especially hilly areas neighboring Deeside and Strathdon. The snow will also drift in the strengthening Northerly winds with notable drifts over hills later. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to "Traffic Scotland" for further advice on road conditions.
