London, Some 350 schools in southeast England remained closed Thursday due to snow and freezing temperatures that wreaked havoc on the roads, officials said.

Several roads were closed during the morning rush hour, causing traffic jams on the outskirts of London, as more snow is expected in eastern and northeast England as well as Scotland.

Police advised motorists to beware of black ice on the roads.
