In a spectacular reprise of an eruption last year, Mte Etna, Europe's highest volcano rumbled alive with a series of spectacular fire and ash-spewing explosions late Saturday and early Sunday.NOAA's infrared satellite image reveals the hot gases and ashes being drifted towards Malta and North Africa. Volcanic ash clouds, mixed with watervapour and air re known as pyrocumulus clouds and are a major hazard for airplanes.
