The first tropical storm system of the Atlantic season was downgraded Tuesday evening as the system by the National Hurricane Center. The remnants of Arthur now an extratropical low pressure system continue to race toward Newfoundland. At peak intensity the storm only packed sustained winds of 100kph (60 mph) well short of being a hurricane.
