Gales across northern Europe

Today
Very windy with gales across much of northern and eastern Europe. Rain across the United Kingdom will spread into Norway and Sweden later in the day with some snow at first. Mainly dry for Finland except for a few snow showers. Rain and drizzle is also forecast for northern France, The Low Countries, Germany into the Baltic States with heavy showers for parts of Poland. High pressure will give Spain and Portugal another fine, sunny day and continued warm as well. The fine weather should extend eastward across the Balearics into Italy. Some light rain is likely across Greece and Turkey.

Saturday
It turns colder across Scandinavia with a risk of some heavy snow for Finland and scattered snow showers across Norway. More rain will fall across the United Kingdom and rain will be very light through Benelux into northern Germany, the Baltic States and Poland. Heavy rain across Turkey will move into Cyprus. Fine and dry for Spain, much of France, Italy and Greece. Fair and dry as well across the Balkans. Quite mild in the western Mediterranean and much colder in the east.
