Rain in the north, few showers in southeast Mediterranean

Today
Outbreaks of rain across northern coasts of Spain, with drizzle for the northern coasts of France. There could be a few showers over southern France too, although for the rest of the country it should be dry with sunny spells. Spain and Portugal should be fine too with more sunshine here. The high pressure bringing the sunshine extends into the mainland of Europe too with most of Germany, Italy and eastern Europe staying dry, although with overnight frost. To the north the southern UK has showery rain, this extending into Denmark and southern Sweden, before becoming heavier and turning to snow over Finland. Heavy snow showers for the western coasts of Norway, and windy here too in gales.

Wednesday
A much more unsettled day over the UK, northern France and northern Germany on Wednesday. periods of rain, heavy at times through much of the UK, France and later in the Low Countries. Germany will have broken cloud and a few spots of rain with similar weather in central France. Heavy periods of rain into southwest Norway and Denmark with most of Sweden dry and sunny, but chilly. Over southern France and most of Spain the day should be dry with plenty of sunshine , whilst western coasts of Portugal have showers. A few shows too over northern Italy with sow showers in the Alps. Fair for much of Greece and Turkey, although a few showers over the mountains of Greece.
