Today
Bitterly cold across Scandinavia where temperatures will remain well below freezing all day. Snow showers will affect western Norway with heavier snow for southern Sweden. Largely dry and sunny across Finland today. Snow showers will also affect eastern parts of the UK. Rain, sleet and snow showers with hail will affect northern France and Benelux with snow showers across Holland. An area of rain and snow will lie from Poland into southern France with snow expected across southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Just a few showers expected for the Balkans today. Cold through northern Spain with rain and sleet. Much warmer with the best of the sunshine along southern Spain into Italy and Greece.
Tuesday
Heavy snow is forecast for the Alps today with strong winds and blizzards. Very cold across Europe with snow showers across eastern Britain, western parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland, northern France, the Low Countries and into northern Spain. A few wintry showers also for the Baltic States into northern Germany and Poland. Windy through the central Mediterranean with rain for Italy and the Balkans with thunderstorms for the Balearics. Southern Spain and Greece will hang onto the dry, sunny and warmest weather.
