Yet more rain in Spain, dry for the north and west
Today
An unsettled day to come through most of Spain with periods of rain and showers, the most persistent in the south and east. The rain extending into the Balearics. Drier for Portugal in sunny spells, and the far north of Spain should be drier too. Sunny spells and dry conditions through Italy and Greece together with western Turkey. Central and eastern Turkey, as well as Israel will have heavy periods of rain and showers, turning to snow inland.
France, Germany, the Low Countries, Switzerland, Austria and the UK will be dry with sunny spells throughout the day. Rather mild here.
Norway will have periods of rain, some of it heavy, whilst much of Denmark and Sweden will be dry with sunny spells. The Baltic States and Finland should become drier, with a band of heavier rain and snow moving into western Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine, Bulgaria and Romania.
Sunday
The rain becoming more showery across eastern and southern Spain, where it will be cool too. A few showers in the Balearics, but for the bulk of the rest of Spain it should be a dry day with sunny spells. Further sunshine and dry conditions to come through Portugal.
Heavy and more widespread showers affecting the former Yugoslavia and Greece, with snow on the Mountains. Heavy showers through the Aegean, Crete and Turkey.
Morning fog and frost over France, northern Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, the Low Countries and the UK. The fog should clear away and then the day is expected to be dry with some sunny spells. Increased cloud in northern Scotland later on Sunday bringing wintry showers.
Snow showers in the west of Norway, whilst the east should be drier. Dry too in Denmark and Sweden. The Baltic States will have snow showers.
