Heavy rain across Italy
Today
Very cold and very windy weather is expected from the United Kingdom into France, Germany, The Low Countries and into all of Scandinavia. Here showers of sleet and snow will fall through the day, some heavy but always interspersed with sunny intervals. Across France the showers will be mainly of rain with a risk of thunder or hail. Windy too across Spain and showers across northern Spain may also become wintry in nature. Rather windy across Italy with an area of rain and heavy showers. Expect outbreaks of snow across Austria and Switzerland with plenty of dry weather for the Balkans. Another area of rain, sleet and snow will extend from the Baltic States into Poland.
Tuesday
Another windy and cold day across the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and much of western Europe. Plenty of snow showers again for this area with the heaviest ones around the coasts as a gusty north wind prevails. Turning cold as well across Italy with some heavy showers as a heavy band of rain moves into Greece. Further snow showers to come across Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Poland and the Baltic region. Overall a largely dry, sunny day across Scandinavia except for a few show showers around the coasts. Continued fine and dry across Turkey and the south of Spain with a risk of snow showers moving into central Spain.
