High pressure dominates the north, but low pressure to the south
Today
An area of high pressure will be centred over Scandinavia through Sunday. This is going to be bringing plenty of dry weather to these areas, with quite a strong wind blowing through the Baltic States, Denmark, southern Sweden and the north parts of Germany and Poland.
More dry conditions for the rest of Germany and Poland with sunny spells, and this dry weather into the Low Countries and much of eastern France too. For western France there is going to be more cloud and this could be thick enough to produce some outbreaks of drizzle or rain at times.
For Portugal and most of Spain there will be a mix of sunshine and showers. A few of the showers could be heavy. The Balearics staying generally dry, but into Italy and the former Yugoslavia conditions will be more unsettled with periods of rain and showers here.
For Greece and Turkey conditions will be dry with sunny spells throughout, although a few showers are likely over the Greek mountains. Crete and Cyprus as well as Israel should stay dry.
Bulgaria and Romania will be rather unsettled with periods of rain or showers, especially in the east of the country.
Monday
High pressure remains through northern Europe throughout the course of Monday. This will be bringing more dry weather to much of Scandinavia, the UK and Ireland. It is going to be breezy through Germany and Denmark as well as the UK. It will be dry across Poland, Germany, the Low Countries and much of France as well as Switzerland.
Some cloud and showers across Spain and Portugal, most the rain over the central Regions, but it does look a rather wet day in parts of Portugal. The Balearics could have some cloud and a few showers too, although these are going to be heavy at times too.
Italy will have a day of showers or rain, with most of this to the north of the country. Further cloud and rain extends into the former Yugoslavia and northern parts of Greece, whilst the south should be drier with sunny spells. Further showers to come through Turkey and some of these could be heavy in paces. Crete and Cyprus are likely to be dry with sunny spells.
Drier too through Bulgaria and Romania with sunny periods here.
