Summer turns to autumn in the western Mediterranean, but autumn has already arrived in Scandinavia
Today
Some rain for the south of Portugal due to low pressure being close by. The rest of Portugal will be dry with plenty of sunshine. A few showers over central parts of Spain, but generally it should be dry here with sunny spells. Dry too throughout France with plenty of sunshine and feeling warm here as well. The Low Countries enjoyed a day of fine weather and sunshine. Northern parts of Germany will have some showers and outbreaks of heavy rain, whilst central and southern Germany should be staying dry.
For Poland the day is going to be dry with plenty of sunshine. The dry weather continues in Switzerland, Austria and Hungary too. Italy should be dry with more sunshine here, and the sunshine extends through the former Yugoslavia as well.
Heavy showers in Greece, with Crete, Cyprus and Turkey all dry with sunny spells. Showers to come over Romania, whilst Bulgaria should be dry in sunny spells. Central parts of the Ukraine are likely to have a band of rain lying north to south, whilst either side should be dry and sunny. Dry too in Belarus and sunny here.
Into Scandinavia there will be some rain across the Baltic States and this extends into the east of Finland too. Sunshine and scattered showers to come over Sweden, whilst Denmark will have heavier showers and rain as well as being windy. Further strong winds and heavy showers throughout the day across Norway.
Friday
A very unsettled day over Iberia with heavy showers and thunderstorms breaking out in both Portugal and Spain. These showers extend into the Balearics.
For France the day is going to be drier with lots of sunshine and feeling warm too. A dry day to come across the Low Countries and the whole of Germany. More sunshine and dry weather in Poland where it is also going to be feeling warm. This dry weather affects Switzerland, Austria and Hungary as well as the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Further south Italy stays dry in lots of sunshine, with fine, warm weather across the former Yugoslavia too. Showers continue in Greece, extending into the Aegean and western Turkey, whilst the rest of Turkey should be dry and sunny. Bulgaria and Romania will have some showers in the east, but central and western areas are going to be remaining dry and sunny. Fine conditions in the Ukraine and Belarus.
To the north heavy showers will be affecting the Baltic States and parts of southern Finland, whilst inland areas stay dry. Heavy rain and showers to come across Sweden and Norway, with rain into the north of Denmark later in the day.
