Wet, windy across central Europe and central Med Thursday
Today
It's quite a chilly day to come across much of Europe with a brisk north wind to bring lots of cloud and some light rain to eastern parts of England, France and some heavy showers for the Low Countries and Germany. Lots of showers to come for Sweden and Norway as well with Finland sunnier and just the odd shower in the north. Largely dry and bright for Poland while it looks cloudy with some light rain for the Baltic States and Belarus.
An area of heavier rain will clear the far south of Italy as it moves into the former Yugoslav Republic and Hungary. Another area of rain will push into northern Italy. Rain is also in the forecast across Switzerland, Austria and the former Czech Republic. Fine, dry and warmer toady across Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey with rain and showers into Greece. Portugal, Spain and the Balearics will have a fine, sunny and warm day.
Thursday
A developing area of low pressure will be centred near south east France and will give much of Europe and the central Mediterranean an unsettled and windy day. Heavy spells of rain are likely across southern France, Germany, the former Czech and Yugoslav Republics along with Austria, Switzerland and Italy. Heavy rain will also spill into western Poland with a dry day in the east. A gusty mistral will be blowing across southern France as well.
Apart from some light rain near eastern England, it looks cool but generally dry and bright. Much of Scandinavia will also be dry with just a few well scattered showers across Sweden and Finland. Fine and mostly sunny toady for Holland, The Low Countries and The Baltic States into Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine. A few showers may affect northern coasts of Spain and here it's rather chilly. Southern Spain and the Balearics will be dry, sunny and warmer. Dry as well for the Balkans and rather hot today across Turkey.
