Unsettled for much of Spain in heavy showers and rain in Scandinavia

Today
Showery over Spain, some of those showers heavy at times. The heavy showers and rain affecting southern Portugal too, but for most of Portugal the weather should be staying dry with some good spells of sunshine. A fair day to come across the whole of France, with plenty of sunshine here. More dry and sunny weather persisting across the Low Countries and Germany as well as Poland. The fine weather extending south through Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Over Italy the weather stays fair with plenty of sunshine in all places, and it will be a fine day too over the former Yugoslavia and Greece. More sunshine to come for Crete and Cyprus as well as most of Turkey, although the Black Sea coasts of Turkey are likely to have some rain.
Scattered showers in the Ukraine and parts of Belarus, but the west of these areas should be dry in sunshine. Dry and fine for the Baltic States and Denmark with the dry weather persisting over Finland and Sweden. A band of rain into the west of Norway, some of it heavy, whilst the south stays dry in sunny spells.

Friday
The showers across Spain may become heavy, thundery and more widespread especially in central and eastern areas. Portugal should be dry with sunny spells, although an odd shower over inland areas. Showers may also break out across southern Spain, but central and northern areas will be drier with sunny spells. After a fair start, cloud and rain will be moving into the Low Countries and northern Germany, whilst the south of Germany and Poland stay dry and sunny.
An isolated shower may break out over Switzerland, Austria and Hungary, whilst most places should be dry with good spells of sunshine. Italy is likely to stay dry with lots of warm sunshine, and this fair weather extends throughout the former Yugoslavia, Greece and Turkey as well as Cyprus and Crete.
Bulgaria and Romania will be dry and sunny too, with similar weather for the Ukraine and Belarus.
The Baltic States will have a largely dry day, but will become wet and windy in the west later. Mostly fair through daylight hours in Finland. More unsettled though for Sweden with heavy rain and strong winds here, heavy showers following the rain into Norway and Denmark.
