Very unsettled in central Mediterranean this weekend

Today
High pressure centred over the United Kingdom will give England and the Low Counties a fine, dry day with sunny spells. Fine too across much of Scandinavia but a few showers are forecast for Finland. Dry too across much of central and northern France with sunny spells. Some heavy showers with a risk of scattered thunderstorms are likely across the south of France and south westward towards Barcelona. For Portugal and the rest of Spain expect sunny spells and dry.Fine and sunny across into the Balearics with a very warm, sunny day for Italy. Across southern parts of Germany light rain will clear with all parts generally fine and dry. An area of rain across Poland, The Baltic States and the former Czech Republic will turn heavier in the afternoon across Hungary. Lots of dry, sunny weather is forecast the former Yugoslav Republic into Romania and Bulgaria and for Greece. A number of showers will affect Turkey but there will also be dry, sunnier periods.

Saturday
A cell of high pressure is to be centred over Holland today. This will keep much of northern Europe settled. A large area of dry, sunny weather will prevail across the United Kingdom through Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and Poland. While some rain will push into western parts of Norway late in the day, it's fine and sunny for Sweden and Finland with a cold, frosty morning.An area of heavy rain and showers will stretch from the Ukraine into Romania, Hungary, The former Yugoslav Republic into Italy. Just a few showers for the south of France today with sunny skies in the north. Apart from the odd shower around the north coast of Spain, Iberia will enjoy a dry, sunny day. Greece also will be fine and settled with just a few well scattered showers and sunny intervals through Turkey.
