Today
A fine, sunny and dry day to come across the United Kingdom and France as high pressure dominates. Very windy and cold across Scandinavia with northerly gales. Best of the sunshine will be across eastern parts of Norway and Sweden with wintry showers a western Norway and Finland. Windy and quite cold too as well for the Low Countries, Poland, The Baltic States and Germany with a mixture of cloud, sunny spells and showers. Snow showers are forecast over The Alpine Region today with outbreaks of rain forecast across northern Italy and the former Czech Republic.
Warm and mostly sunny across Iberia today with showers across eastern parts of Spain into the Balearics. Dry as well for the south of Italy into the former Yugoslav Republic into Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Turkey. An area of rain and snow will lie across northern Russia with a fine day for Belarus and the Ukraine.

Friday
Quite a cold day for Scandinavia and the eastern half of Europe today. Windy with an area of rain, sleet and snow is likely for Finland into the Baltic States. Much of Norway and Sweden will be dry and sunny and here it becomes less windy. An area of heavy rain will stretch from Belarus into Romania, the Former Yugoslav Republic and into Greece with wintry showers for Switzerland and Austria.
An area of high pressure will give the United Kingdom, The Low Countries, Poland, Germany and France a fine, dry day with plenty of sunshine. Fine and dry as well across Portugal, Spain, The Balearics into Italy though showers may threaten the far south of Italy later. Heavy rain is expected across Greece with Turkey and Bulgaria staying fine and dry.
