The rain is not staying on the 'plane in Spain! If sunshine you need, head east
Today
Showers for much of eastern Spain today, and these will once again be heavy and thundery. To the west it should be drier with sunny spells. Portugal will be generally dry too in sunshine, although there will be showers to the north. Showers and rain spreading into the Pyrenees and southwest France, although the rest of France will be dry with more sunshine.
The Low Countries have a few showers here and there, but will be mainly dry. A band of cloud and rain spreading eastwards into Germany, some of the showers and rain heavy. Through Switzerland, Austria and Hungary the weather is likely to be dry with some good sunny spells.
Throughout the whole of Italy and the former Yugoslavia the weather is going to be staying dry. There will be more sunshine and it should be warm as well. Greece will be dry and sunny as well as warm. A few showers to come through central and western Turkey, with eastern Turkey being dry.
Bulgaria and Romania as well as the Ukraine will be dry with plenty of sunshine throughout.
Further north there will be cloud and rain throughout Belarus and the Baltic States, and some of the rain may be heavy at times. More cloud and some outbreaks of rain in Finland. Much of Sweden and Norway should be dry with good spells of sunshine, although rain and cloud for Denmark.
Friday
Heavy showers for the north of Spain, the Pyrenees and the south of France, with a risk of thunderstorms in some places. For much of central and southern Spain the day is going to be dry with some good spells of sunshine. More sunshine and dry weather to come through Portugal.
Over northern France the day is going to be dry and bright, good spells of sunshine here. This sunshine extends through the Low Countries too. Much of Germany should be dry with sunshine here, although there is a chance of a shower in the south. For Poland the day will again be mainly dry and sunny, although some cloud and a few outbreaks of rain could occur in the south in the morning.
An area of rain in the Czech and Slovak Republics, this also affecting the western Ukraine. Showers in the former Yugoslavia, with much of Italy dry and sunny. Over Greece, Crete and Cyprus as well as Turkey the weather is going to be dry with more sunshine to come in all places.
To the north some showers could affect the Baltic States, but Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark should all be dry with good spells of sunshine.
