Heavy showers and thunderstorms developing in central areas
Today
Showers or outbreaks of rain across the north of Spain today. These will be drifting into the western coasts of France as the day progresses. For most of Portugal the day is going to be dry with more sunshine here, with the south of Spain also dry and sunny. Most of France, away from the damper western areas should be staying dry, again with sunshine here.
For the Low Countries and Germany the day is likely to be dry with more sunshine to come here. The dry and fine weather continues in Switzerland, Austria and Hungary too. Further east some drizzle may affect parts of central and eastern Poland, but the west is likely to stay dry.
Far more unsettled weather through Italy and the former Yugoslavia. here it is expected to be wet throughout the day. Rain may be heavy at times, especially over southern Italy with a chance of some thunderstorms. The rain spreads into Greece later in the day, although southern Greece and most of Turkey should stay fine and dry.
Wet for Bulgaria although Romania should be dry. More rain in the Ukraine and Belarus. Rain passing through the Baltic States and later into Finland. Showers following to northern Sweden, but the south should be dry as will be Denmark. Rain into western Norway.
Monday
An unsettled day in Spain with rain through many southern and eastern areas, some of it heavy in places. Portugal should be dry with sunshine, and the sunshine will continue through much of western and northern Spain too. The south of France again having some showers, but central, northern and eastern areas should be dry.
The Low Countries and Germany will be dry with sunny spells throughout the day, this fine weather spreading through Poland and into Denmark too. For the Czech Republic, Slovakia and through Austria, Hungary and Switzerland the day is going to be another dry one with sunny spells.
A better day for northern Italy and Croatia with sunny spells here. The far south of Italy will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy again at times. Much of Greece is going to be damp as well, with the heaviest of the rain in the west. Crete and Turkey staying dry with sunny spells. Another damp day in Bulgaria but Romania should be dry and sunny.
Southern Ukraine is going to have some sunshine, but rain may affect the north. A wet day in Belarus and the Baltic States, with this wind and rain affecting Finland as well. Different weather for Sweden where it should be dry and sunny. Southern Norway dry as well, but some winds and rain for northern and western areas.
