Unsettled weather affecting much of Europe; heavy rain in southern areas tomorrow
Today
Cloud and periods of rain over the far north of Spain today. There will be some showers and rain moving through the Balearics too. For the rest of Spain and Portugal the day is going to be fair with good spells of sunshine. A band of rain moving through central parts of France and the Low Countries, this becoming heavier as it move into Germany, where many central and northern areas will have a wet and windy afternoon. Northern parts of France should become brighter with a few showers, with the far south of France mainly dry.
Poland, Austria, Hungary. the Czech Republic and Slovakia as well as Switzerland should be dry and bright with some good spells of sunshine.
For Italy and the former Yugoslavia high pressure will be bringing fair conditions with spells of sunshine. Greece should be cloudier and more unsettled with some showers or longer spells of rain in the north of Greece. Turkey, Crete and Cyprus should be dry with more sunshine here. Wet in Bulgaria and Romania.
To the north cloud and strong winds will be affecting the Baltic States giving a few spots of rain. Cloudy and wet through Finland, with strong winds and heavy bursts of rain also affecting Sweden and Denmark. More showers weather moving into Norway, most of the showers on the coasts.
Tuesday
Little change in Spain today with a northerly wind bringing more cloud and outbreaks of rain over northern Spain. Further showers affecting the Balearics. The rest of Spain and all of Portugal should be fair with lots of sunshine, the best of this in Portugal. Eastern and southern parts of France are going to have some showers, whilst the north and west should be dry with sunny spells. More showers extending through the Low Countries and Germany, where it will be cool too. Poland is likely to have some cloud and rain in the north and west, but the south and east should be dry.
Central Europe will become increasingly unsettled again today. Cloud and some patchy rain over Switzerland. More persistent rain, some of it heavy and strong winds over Italy and the Balkans. Drier in Greece and Turkey with good spells of sunshine, but eastern Turkey may have some heavier showers. Bulgaria and Romania will be dry with good spells of sunshine.
Cloud and rain moving into the Baltic States and Finland, with the rain heavy at times in the strong winds. mainly dry and bright in Sweden, heavy showers affecting Denmark. More showers in western Norway, but drier to the east.
