Unsettled through the northeast, windy and rain here; drier in the west

Today
High pressure over Iberia and France. There will be plenty of dry conditions over Spain and Portugal, with the sunshine extending into France as well. Some cloud and drizzle may affect the Low Countries and northern Germany, but for southern Germany and Switzerland it will be a dry day with sunny spells. A band of cloud and showery rain slipping southwards through Poland, becoming brighter in northern Poland in the afternoon.
A breezy day in Italy with more sunshine to come here. A few showers affecting the south of the country, with most of the former Yugoslavia being dry as well. Showers for Greece and Turkey, and rather cool here as well. However, Crete and Cyprus should be dry with sunshine.
A few showers in Romania, but Bulgaria should be dry with good spells of sunshine. Rather cloudy and damp in the Ukraine and Belarus.
A cold day to come through the Baltic States and windy here as well. Wintry showers through Finland, whilst Sweden stays dry with good spells of sunshine. Cloudier skies over Denmark and western Norway with some drizzle here, whilst northern Norway will be dry and bright.

Saturday
A large area of high pressure covers western Europe by Saturday. This will be bringing lots of dry and sunny weather through much of France and Spain as well as Portugal. Some cloud troubles the Low Countries and northern Germany again, producing a few spots of rain. More persistent rain for northern Poland, where it may become windy.
Through central Europe conditions should be drier with some sunny spells, the best of the sunshine in Switzerland and southern Germany as well as Hungary and Austria. This fine weather extends into Italy and the former Yugoslavia.
For Italy the day should be largely dry. Here there will be some good spells of sunshine throughout, although some heavy showers may affect the far southwest and Sicily. Most of Greece and Turkey should be dry too with sunny spells, although always the risk of a shower in northern Turkey. Most of Bulgaria and Romania will be dry with plenty of sunshine.
To the north winds and rain affect the Baltic States, with lighter rain for Finland. Windy, yet dry over southern Sweden and southern Norway, although heavy showers and rain will be affecting the west and north of Norway and Sweden.
