An unsettled day for much of Europe, heavy periods of rain through France and parts of Spain

Today
Showers passing eastwards through Spain today. There will be some further showers on western coasts of Portugal, elsewhere it will be mainly dry with sunny spells. A band of cloud and rain extends north to south through France, and some of this rain is going to be heavy in places. Heavy showers moving into western France later. Cloud and periods of rain over the Low Countries and the west of Germany. Eastern parts of Germany should be dry with sunny spells. It will be dry too with more sunny spells over Poland.
A dry day across Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland with some sunshine here. More sunny spells after morning fog patches have cleared through much of Italy and the former Yugoslavia. More dry weather over Greece, with fog in the north at first. Turkey should be more settled with periods of rain or showers here, rather breezy too. Staying dry in Bulgaria and Romania with some sunny spells after a widespread morning frost and fog.
To the north it should be a fine day through the Baltic States. More sunshine across Finland, although there could be a few outbreaks of snow in the far north in the afternoon. Much of Sweden will be dry with sunshine, and it should be dry in Denmark. Cloud and outbreaks of rain over the far southwest of Norway, but the rest of the country should be dry with sunny spells.

Thursday
Chilly with scattered showers for western Portugal. The showers will be heavier through the rest of Spain, with some heavier rain affecting the Balearics. More heavy rain in southern and eastern France, with heavy showers in the west. Sunshine and scattered showers over the Low Countries. Cloud and some periods of rain across Germany, this extending into the northwest of Poland. Southern Poland and Germany should be dry with some sunshine here.
Dry across Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland. There will be some bright spells here, and it may be breezy over Switzerland too. Some hefty showers over the northwest of Italy, whilst the rest of the country should be dry with sunny spells. Dry conditions over Poland.
Italy has some showers in the northwest, but for most of the country the day should be dry with some good spells of sunshine. More sunshine to come over the former Yugoslavia, with plenty of fine weather for Greece and Turkey. Bulgaria and Romania will be dry, although some frost and fog here at first.
For the Baltic States it will become breezy, but should stay dry. Rain and snow as well as stronger winds affect Finland, with more rain into southern Denmark and southern Sweden. Unsettled for the south of Norway with rain and snow here, but snow showers further north.
