Snow and gales in Scandinavia and eastern Europe, dry and sunny in the eastern Mediterranean

Today
A windy day over Spain and Portugal today. There will be some cloud and heavy showers or rain along southern coasts of Spain. Elsewhere through Iberia the day should be mainly dry, but rather cool. A band of cloud and outbreaks of rain will be moving southwards through France, with some drier weather into northern France later. Sunshine and breezy weather in the Low Countries. Showers and sunny spells plunging south through Germany, making it feel very cold here. Heavier rain and sleet through Poland, some of it heavy at times. Further cloud and periods of rain and sleet in Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Dry for the north and south of Italy, but in between an area of cloud will be bringing some showers. Rain and showers through the former Yugoslavia. fair for Greece with plenty of sunshine here, and more sunshine to come over Turkey and Bulgaria too. Romania will have some cloud and snow in the west, but drier to the east.
To the north there will be strong winds and sleet or snow through the Baltic States and Finland, some of this heavy at times. Sunshine and snow showers in Sweden, most of them to the north. Winds may be to gale force, bringing heavy snow showers into Denmark, with further gales and snow showers through Norway.

Monday
The showers continue close to the southern coasts of Spain through today. Elsewhere in Spain and Portugal it should be staying dry with some sunny spells, the best of them in the west. More dry weather over the south of France, with hazy sunshine to the north. Hazy sunshine and dry weather in the Low Countries. Most of Germany should be dry, although rather cold. Strong northwest winds and snow showers to come through Poland. Dry in Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland, with sunny spells here.
Dry for much of Italy too, although a few showers could affect central Italy. Further showers over parts of the former Yugoslavia. Most of Greece should be dry with sunny periods here, and it should stay dry and sunny throughout Turkey. Colder in Bulgaria and Romania with a band of sleet followed by snow showers here.
Further snow showers, some heavy over the Baltic States and Finland. Gale force winds in parts of the Baltic States, Sweden and Norway. Very cold in those winds with a mix of sunshine and snow showers.
