Fine, sunny and warm across Spain
Today
Very cold artic air will spread south from Scandinavia into all of eastern Europe through the day. An area of rain will lie across Finland into Sweden and England. The rain looks heavy across Norway. After a cold, dry day for Finland where daytime highs will struggle to reach freezing, this rain will move in later in the day and will turn to snow for a time.
A large area of settled, dry weather will prevail across much of central Europe so fair, dry and bright with morning fog patches for France, Germany, The Alpine Region and Poland along with the former Czech Republic. Bitterly cold but sunny for The Baltic States and Russia today. Sunny and pleasantly warm into Spain and the Balearics. A dry day too across Italy with lots of showers forecast for Greece and Turkey.
Tuesday
A dry, bright day to come across the United Kingdom and northern parts of France. Southern France will see light rain clearing this morning. Snow is likely to fall across parts of Switzerland and Austria today. This may turn heavy later in the day. Cloudy and damp for much of Germany and Belgium along with the Netherlands today with outbreaks of rain. Across Poland it will be a cold day with outbreaks of rain and sleet with a risk of snow for the Baltic States while Russia is very cold but dry and sunny.
Spain will remain the warmest, sunniest place to be today. Dry with sunny spells too for the Balearics into Italy, Greece and the former Yugoslav Republic. Unsettled and wet with rain for Turkey. Mostly sunny and dry into Romania and Bulgaria but cold. Very windy for Scandinavia with gales. Rain, sleet and snow is expected across Finland while much of Norway and Sweden are dry apart from a few showers in western Norway.
